Despite being granted admission into several different nursing programs in Germany, Susanne chose to be trained as a "fine mechanic" in the burgeoning computer industry instead. This training eventually led to full-time employment at Nixdorf Computer AG, which was headquartered in Paderborn, Germany. It was the fourth largest computer manufacturer in Europe, and was eventually acquired by Siemens AG in 1990.
After spending some time in the R&D section, Susanne's fine motor skills and keen pair of eyes helped her to gain a position within a specialized department that manufactured and assembled computer heads. She flourished in this demanding environment, and her outstanding work ethic and superior performance was acknowledged annually by the company.
After a nine year "break" from the active work force and now living in Canada, Susanne was encouraged by others to seek self-employment within the house cleaning industry. Her "attention to detail" when cleaning was quickly noticed and appreciated by her clients...and especially among those who enjoyed coming home to a high quality clean.
